Earthquakes seek out new stadium sponsor with Elevate

Major League Soccer (MLS) club San Jose Earthquakes has hired sports and entertainment consulting firm Elevate Sports Ventures to help secure a new naming rights sponsor for its stadium.

The team’s home has been known as Earthquakes Stadium since 2018 following the collapse of its previous naming rights deal with Avaya. The telecommunications firm held the naming rights from the stadium’s opening in January 2015, but filed for bankruptcy in January 2017, eventually agreeing to shorten a 10-year deal that was due to end in 2024.

The Sports Business Journal said Elevate has now been brought on board to secure a new naming rights partner for the 18,000-capacity stadium.

The agreement increases Elevate’s business dealings in MLS. Nashville SC last week engaged Elevate Sports Ventures, and Ticketmaster, to support the ticketing strategy for its new stadium. Nashville SC became Elevate’s fourth MLS client, joining Sacramento FC, St. Louis City SC and Inter Miami CF.

Expansion franchise St. Louis City SC appointed Elevate in September to help drive sponsorship, premium and ticket sales efforts ahead of its entry into the competition in 2023.
