BSE Global to reimagine Barclays Center’s premium space

The premium club at Barclays Center, home of the Brooklyn Nets NBA basketball team, is to be reimagined through a partnership with global restaurant company Major Food Group (MFG).

The new courtside Crown Club lounge will be located just steps from the court and will be easily accessible from the best seats in the arena. MFG has teamed up with BSE Global, which manages and operates the arena and the Nets, to enhance the premium guest experience at the 17,000-seat facility.

The team behind the new lounge also includes interior designer Ken Fulk, who has worked with MFG on seven restaurants, including Sadelle’s and the Las Vegas and Miami outposts of Carbone. Levy, Barclays Center’s food and beverage partner, will coordinate operations closely with MFG as part of the deal.

As well as offering luxurious dining experiences for Nets games, Crown Club will offer premium ticket holders the same flexibility and variety as a traditional courtside club. The area will span 7,700 square feet and will include a foyer, lounge, pantry, salon and a private dining room reserved as the most exclusive space.

The club will be decorated with velvet furnishings, antique mirrors, parquet floors and a residential array of textures and fabrics. A signature Ken Fulk bar will also anchor the lounge.

The environment and the culinary programme at the Crown Club have been designed to rotate between MFG’s iconic restaurants and other concepts from beloved eateries in New York City. The space will also provide à la carte dining and will feature “meticulously considered” servers, glassware and theatrics.

John Abbamondi, chief executive of BSE Global, said: “New York has historically set the bar for premier culinary experiences and we see Crown Club as our opportunity to bring the same standard to sports and entertainment events.

“This new space will not only elevate the game day experience for guests at Barclays Center, but we believe it will ultimately redefine how our industry has traditionally thought about courtside clubs as a whole.”

MFG co-owner Jeff Zalaznick added: “With New York City roaring back to life and the Nets poised to be more thrilling than ever, Crown Club is perfectly paired to celebrate this exciting time. It’s been an honour to make this dream a reality with the brilliant Ken Fulk and our visionary partners BSE Global – and we are excited to be a part of this winning combination.”

The space is scheduled to be completed for the 2021-22 NBA season.
