Newbury announces Levy as official hospitality partner

Newbury Racecourse has announced that Levy UK is to be the Berkshire venue’s official catering and hospitality partner.

The bumper 10-year contract will see Levy work with the racecourse to build on its hospitality provision with the view to providing outstanding catering and hospitality for both race days and corporate events.

The company will also cater breakfast at Newbury’s 36-bedroom hotel ‘The Lodge’.

The partnership’s key aim is to enhance customer experience in a post-pandemic setting by delivering innovative and exciting experiences in a safe way with the two parties’ new sustainable food and drink brand ‘Taste Newbury’ spearheading this move.

As part of Levy’s pledge to deliver a safe experience for customers at Newbury, it will install digital menus, cashless solutions and ordering technology to reduce the need for contact.

Julian Thick, chief executive at Newbury Racecourse, said: “Levy has an unparallelled level of expertise and experience in delivering outstanding catering and hospitality at some of the country’s largest and most prestigious venues, and we’re confident and excited that they will have a positive impact here at Newbury Racecourse.”

Newbury Racecourse opened in 1905 and has been one of the country’s leading tracks for decades. The venue stages up to 30 days of flat and jump racing each year and also plays host to weddings, concerts and conferences for up to 1,000 attendees.

Jon Davies, managing director at Levy UK + Ireland, said: “Newbury Racecourse and Levy share a vision on how best to futureproof the spectator experience and innovate the venue’s catering and hospitality operations.”

Davies added this will be achieved “by improving technology, offering great food and drink choices, building a sustainable approach as well as investing in the local community.”
