Covermaster has announced that Arena Lviv, a UEFA Category 4 stadium, has chosen its Evergreen turf blankets to help bring its pitch to the next level.
The Ukrainian stadium’s order for turf blankets was facilitated by Covermaster dealer Engo, an Eastern European company dealing in supplies and services for professional sports organisations.
The Evergreen Radiant turf growth blanket will cover the grass pitch, providing a protective barrier from wind, erosion, frost, and winter kill. Turf covers also create a greenhouse effect, delaying fall dormancy and promoting earlier spring green-ups.
Evergreen Radiant germination blankets and frost covers feature a specialised silver coating that radiates additional heat back into the soil for a 25% increase in heat retention. Its UV protection increases the winter turf cover’s durability and a patented lace coating eliminates the need for hems and grommets while allowing plenty of ventilation to the turf below.
Evergreen Radiant is seen as a perfect choice for Arena Lviv to help its grounds team manage the tough Ukrainian winters.
Having opened in late 2011, Arena Lviv commenced operations in time to be the stage for UEFA Euro 2012 group matches and has since been the home of FC Karpaty Lviv, Shakhtar Donetsk, NK Veres Rivne, and FC Lviv for varying periods of time.
When not holding football matches, Arena Lviv can also host different types of performances, boasting a capacity of nearly 35,000 seated spectators.
