Daktronics reveals next generation of pitch perimeter tech

Audiovisual systems manufacturer Daktronics has unveiled a new generation of the company’s pitch perimeter product line.

The PPX-1001 line is a modular display solution specifically designed for displaying linear advertising and information at a rapid refresh rate for crisp imagery on any form of digital content.

“This product has been engineered to deliver flicker-free on-camera image reproduction and prevents image tearing and motion artifacts, especially when showing fast-paced motion content,” said Jon Settingsgard, Daktronics product manager.

“This improved visual aspect on displays that are very close to the live action on the field is a huge boost to advertisers and the ability to immerse fans in the game.”

As a self-supporting, portable display solution, each panel of the PPX-1001 product line features two self-contained, fold-down support legs. This panel is capable of up to 20 degrees of rear tilt to better target spectators or show better for camera positions.

This product is designed to reduce injury risk for players during accidental impact. It also does not require tools for system setup for component replacement.

Daktronics last month lifted the lid on its contract to build and install 224 LED displays at Climate Pledge Arena, the new home of the NHL’s Seattle Kraken.

Daktronics partnered with arena operator Oak View Group on the installation, which features 28,715 square feet of digital signage totalling more than 145 million pixels and dual hanging display configurations featuring 2,720 square feet each.

Daktronics said the 224 LED displays will be the most at any sports and entertainment venue in the world. The number includes 173 displays outside the main seating bowl of the arena.
