Record interest in hosting UEFA Women’s Euro 2025

A record five declarations of interest have already been submitted to stage the UEFA European Women’s Championship finals ahead of the 2025 competition.

The most eye-catching so far is the joint declaration from Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. The member associations of France, Poland, Switzerland and Ukraine have also declared their interest in bidding.

The selection process began in July 2021, with the deadline for the submission of the bid dossiers in October 2022. The UEFA Executive Committee will select the successful host in December 2022.

As part of a flexible bidding process, bidders are recommended to present eight Category 4 stadiums, with a variety of capacities ranging from more than 15,000 to more than 30,000.

“UEFA has responded to the ever-increasing surge in popularity of women’s football by raising the standards for hosting the event in 2025,” UEFA said in a statement.

UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 will be held in England next July, with 10 host venues. The host stadiums include Wembley and Old Trafford as well as smaller venues such as the 12,000-capacity Leigh Sports Village and the 7,000-capacity Manchester City Academy Stadium.
