Dodger Stadium to house ice rink as part of winter festival

The Los Angeles Dodgers Major League Baseball team has detailed plans for a Holiday Festival, with the event to include an open-air ice skating experience on the outfield at Dodger Stadium.

The celebration will be held at Dodger Stadium every night from 5pm to 10pm on weekdays and from 3pm to 10pm on weekends, from November 26 to December 31. Admission prices will start at $16 (£11.77/€13.80).

Other specially-ticketed activities will include ice skating and photos with Santa. The festival will mark the first time that Dodger Stadium has hosted an ice skating experience, with an 80ft by 60ft ice rink to host 30-minute sessions throughout each event date.

Professional photos with Santa, who will be located in the bullpen, will be available in one-hour time slots, with guests able to access their pictures digitally with an option to add printed photos or keepsakes.

The festival will also include full-service bars, holiday-themed food and Dodger Stadium concessions such as Shake Shack, as well as a 40-foot Christmas tree, meet-and-greet opportunities with Santa’s elves, and a winter wonderland of light displays and interactive installations. Nightly live musical performances will also be held.

The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) will be operating its homebase in the centerfield plaza at Dodger Stadium during the event. Guests will be able to purchase holiday gifts such as $10 t-shirts, bobbleheads, autographed memorabilia and more.

LADF will also be collecting new or gently-used baseball and softball gloves for use in its sports-based youth development programme, Dodgers RBI. When purchasing tickets for the Holiday Festival, guests will be able to add a donation to support LADF.

The Dodgers staged a similar drive-through festival in 2020.
