Wells Fargo Center to transform club level as part of arena renovation

Wells Fargo Center, home of the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers and NHL’s Philadelphia Flyers, has announced details of a new club level as part of the $300m (£225m/€268m), multi-year renovation of the arena.

The reimagined club level comes after the arena’s old guest seating was replaced over the summer. The upcoming work will see a brand-new, open-concept floor plan, a premium seating entrance and welcome area, and new specialty seating options.

The club level overhaul represents the final interior, fan-facing phase of the transformation project, which has already resulted in the renovation of Wells Fargo Center’s mezzanine, main concourse, New City Terrace and suite level.

Construction of the new club level will begin following the conclusion of the NBA and NHL seasons and will debut in the autumn of 2022. Future phases of the transformation project will include an overhaul to the arena’s event level, including new team locker rooms and performer amenities, as well as upgrades to the venue’s exterior.

The arena first unveiled plans to transform its club level in March 2020 but the work was put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Valerie Camillo, president of business operations at Wells Fargo Center, said: “This is just the latest step in our $300m commitment to maintaining Wells Fargo Center’s status as a world-class venue and Philadelphia’s premier entertainment venue for decades to come.

“The reimagined club level will instantly become Philly’s premier entertainment experience, and from the moment our club level guests arrive at Wells Fargo Center, they’ll be treated to top-of-the-line experience and first-class amenities you won’t find anywhere else.”

The new club level will see the current multi-box structure redesigned and transformed, opening up more than 13,000 square feet to create a premium, open-concept layout. The space will feature high-end amenities, upscale dining options and three unique seating options with oversized leather seats.

Other features will include a new VIP lounge, custom bar with communal seating, dedicated premium parking lot, local celebrity chef programme, touchscreen ordering kiosks, and wine, whiskey and craft beer bars.

New seating options will include the club premier section, which will bring fans close to the action with four rows that extend from the original seating layout towards the arena floor. A club loge offering will also represent a first in Philadelphia and will seek to combine the intimacy of club seats with the amenities of a suite.

Every club ticket holder will gain exclusive access to benefits unique to the level, with every in-game ticket to be pre-loaded with up to $30 per game to be used throughout the arena.

Wells Fargo Center’s transformation project dates back to 2016, when the arena began remodelling its entire suite level. Since then, the project has delivered a first-of-its-kind scoreboard, reimagined concourse, the New City Terrace, an exclusive event level club and a major makeover of the mezzanine level.
