ASM Global acquires majority stake in AV specialist Anthony James Partners

ASM Global has acquired a controlling interest in Anthony James Partners (AJP), an owner’s representative and AV consultant that specialises in the AV technology systems and solutions.

ASM Global said the acquisition is designed to support the increasing demand for strategic technology solutions across its venue portfolio, with the company stating that AV technology has become the “central nervous system” of the live event experience.

AJP’s experience and knowledge of the industry will be harnessed to ensure ASM Global’s facility owners and operators can make informed strategic decisions on major investments into complex technology and integration solutions.

It is hoped the partnership will bolster ASM Global’s technological capabilities through the deployment of digital signage networks, LED displays, broadcast production facilities, audio and sports/entertainment lighting, and core integration and infrastructure requirements at its arenas, stadiums and convention centres.

The DOOH alliance will also support a broader scope of design, procurement and construction administration services in areas such as entertainment districts, municipal and cultural centres and digital-out-of-home media.

Ron Bension, president and chief executive of ASM Global, said: “Demand for cutting-edge technology solutions for our vast network of facilities has been steadily increasing. AJP and their excellent leadership team are best in class.

“A trusted resource, they provide unique services and employ a proven process that will protect the best interests of our clients. Our partnership with AJP further solidifies our position as the premier provider in live-entertainment services, content and technology.”

Frank Moraski, chief operating officer and founding partner of AJP, added: “Technology is evolving at an exponential rate. Together, ASM and AJP have the unique opportunity to fundamentally change the way technology-based projects are being imagined and implemented. We’re excited to get to work.”

AJP’s recent and current partners include the Nashville Predators/Bridgestone Arena (pictured), Chicago White Sox/Guaranteed Rate Field, Philadelphia Union/Subaru Park, and Gila River Arena.

AJP also participated in an $8m (£5.9m/€7.1m) upgrade project at the ASM Global-managed KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Kentucky.
