Uber Eats launches in-stadium food service

Uber Eats is bringing its food ordering service to a selection of sporting venues, including Yankee Stadium.

The famous New York ballpark is one of the first arenas to launch the service for attendees at events. Uber Eats will also be available at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, Capital One Arena in Washington DC, Houston Astros’ Minute Maid Park and PayPal Park in San Jose.

The only non-US venue to debut the service is Roazhon Park, the home of French Ligue 1 team Stade Rennais. Ligue 1, France’s top tier football league, is sponsored by Uber Eats.

Uber Eats said its service will be expanded to other arenas around the world.

An Uber Eats spokesperson said: “Want to grab a bite at the game but also watch every play? Now you don’t have to choose. Our in-venue ordering on Uber Eats and Postmates allows you to place your order from concessions at the stadium and skip the line to pick up your food when it’s ready.”

The service is among several new products Uber unveiled Monday, including a trial of deliveries via robots rather than human drivers in Los Angeles.
