ASM Global has entered into a US-focused partnership with cleaning and disinfection products manufacturer the Clorox Company.

The multi-year partnership will span ASM Global’s US portfolio of arenas, stadiums, theatres and convention centres, and is designed to enhance health and wellness at its venues.

As the official cleaning and disinfecting product partner for ASM Global, Clorox will provide disinfecting wipes, hand sanitiser and electrostatic sprayers for fans and guests. Clorox will also provide COVID-19 frontline responders and healthcare workers with $1m (£801,000/€945,000) in tickets to premier sports and entertainment events across the US.

The partnership with Clorox will seek to enhance ASM Global’s VenueShield programme, which was launched two years ago in response to the pandemic. VenueShield was deployed in various stages as ASM Global reopened its venues in the summer of 2020.

The VenueShield protocols and procedures have since been deployed across ASM Global’s venue portfolio worldwide, including more than 200 facilities across the US.

ASM Global will officially launch its partnership with Clorox at the Oakland Arena on June 1, with other venues in the US to follow ahead of a potential expansion to facilities worldwide.

Last May, Clorox agreed a multi-year partnership with the National Hockey League (NHL) to tie in with the start of the 2021 Stanley Cup playoffs. The deal named Clorox as the official cleaning and disinfecting product partner of the NHL across North America.
