Girona to offer fans stadium Wi-Fi through Parlem deal

Spanish LaLiga football club Girona FC has extended a partnership with Parlem Telecom in a deal that will see the Catalan telecommunications company install a Wi-Fi service for fans at the Estadi Montilivi.

Parlem first became a technology partner of Girona, which returns to the Spanish top flight this season following promotion from the Segunda División in 2021-22, in November 2020 and has now extended its commitment until the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

Parlem will seek to become a key partner in Girona’s digital transformation process, with the club seeking to become a benchmark in this field. The new agreement increases the number of telecommunications services provided to the club, including implementation of a Wi-Fi service for Girona fans in the bowl of the Montilivi.

The new agreement also makes Parlem one of the main sponsors of the club. Through this, the Parlem Telecom logo will be included for the next three seasons on the back of the shorts that the men’s first team players will wear in matches, as well as on their training kit.

Girona’s digitisation drive will be aided by Parlem Telecom’s Parlem Empreses division, which has set itself the goal of progressive digital transformation of small and medium-sized Catalan companies, as well as sports and cultural entities throughout Spain.

In January 2021, Girona announced it would take part in a unique scheme utilising blockchain technology which aimed to help the events industry welcome back patrons. A first for Spain, Girona engaged with the project in an effort to return fans to its Estadi Montilivi after a year of playing behind closed doors due to COVID-19.
