CommBank Stadium to host its first Australia Cup Final

CommBank Stadium in Sydney has been selected to host this year’s Australia Cup 2022 Final between Sydney United 58 FC and Macarthur FC.

The 30,000-seat stadium in Parramatta will host Australia’s premier knockout competition final for the first time on October 1 after being picked by Football Australia.

The game has caught the imagination in Australia with Sydney United 58 FC becoming the first semi-professional outfit to feature in the Australia Cup Final. They will take on Isuzu UTE A-League Men side, Macarthur FC, whose coach is former Manchester United forward Dwight Yorke.

Hindmarsh Stadium in Adelaide has staged the final three times since the competition was founded in 2014. Sydney Football Stadium and Melbourne Rectangular Stadium have each played host twice.

CommBank Stadium, which opened in 2019, is home to National Rugby League teams Parramatta Eels, Wests Tigers, Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and South Sydney Rabbitohs, as well as A-League side Western Sydney Wanderers.

The stadium is owned by the New South Wales Government and operated by VenuesLive.
