ASM Global has been re-appointed as manager of Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium for a five-year period from January 1, 2023.

ASM Global Asia Pacific has managed the venue since its redevelopment in 2003. The company was awarded the renewed management rights following a formal tender process.

Suncorp Stadium has a capacity of 52,500 and hosts rugby league, rugby union and football matches. The stadium is also a major concert venue and has hosted gigs from the likes of Paul McCartney, Taylor Swift and Eminem.

ASM Global has been re-appointed by the Queensland Government, through Stadiums Queensland, which owns Suncorp Stadium.

In 2023, Suncorp Stadium will stage eight matches during the FIFA Women’s World Cup, which Australia will co-host with New Zealand. It will also host concerts from the likes of Elton John, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Ed Sheeran.

Alan Graham, general manager of Suncorp Stadium, said: “It is fortunate that we are part of a worldwide network in ASM Global which has assisted us in continuing to take advantage of the latest innovations and cutting-edge technology ensuring the Suncorp Stadium team remains amongst the most elite in the world.”

Suncorp Stadium was the only Australian facility to make the Venue of the Year Award shortlist at last year’s TheStadiumBusiness Awards. It ultimately lost out to SoFi Stadium, with the shortlist also including Anfield, Brentford Community Stadium, Chase Center and WiZink Center.
