People on the move: Intuit Dome, NBA and more

Becky Colwell has been announced as the general manager of the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California and vice-president of music and events at the Intuit Dome, the under-construction home of the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers.

Colwell joins the Clippers organisation, which includes the Kia Forum and Intuit Dome (pictured), with 25 years of venue industry experience. She will be responsible for operations and programming at the Kia Forum, as well as the programming of the Intuit Dome leading into and following its opening in 2024.

Colwell previously served as general manager of the Greek Theater and also worked as general manager of Booth Amphitheatre in North Carolina. In her new role, she will report to Gillian Zucker, president of business operations at the Clippers.

The NBA has announced Tammy Henault as its new chief marketing officer.

Henault currently serves as senior vice-president of marketing and streaming at Paramount+. She will join the NBA on November 21 and will report to deputy commissioner and chief operating officer Mark Tatum.

As chief marketing officer, Henault will lead all global marketing efforts for the NBA and its affiliate leagues. She will also play a leading role in driving the launch of the NBA’s Next Gen platform.

Prior to joining Paramount, Henault was managing director of consumer marketing for digital products at the New York Times, where she led the acquisition and retention marketing team for its digital subscription business.

Adam Vonthethoff is stepping down as chief operating officer of the Adelaide Oval.

Vonthethoff has worked at the stadium for the past 12 years, having previously served as food and beverage manager at Crown Casino. Prior to that, he held food and beverage roles at Outrigger Hospitality Group, SkyCity Adelaide and Stamford Hotels and Resorts.

Vonthethoff said that he will now spend some time with his family then reset for a “big 2023” and his next opportunity.

The Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority has appointed Ben Jay as the public oversight chief for US Bank Stadium, home of the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings.

Jay will serve as a full-time executive director at the MSFA and will begin the role on December 5. He currently serves as chief financial officer and chief of staff for the Big West Conference in Irvine, California.
