Italian Serie A football club AS Roma has opened up a new hospitality space at the Stadio Olimpico and agreed a deal with Enovation Consulting to become its official strategic consultant for sustainability practices.
The Club 1927 hospitality space was opened last Thursday ahead of Roma’s UEFA Europa League game against Ludogorets.
The space features LED walls in the colours of Roma, and the first guests were treated to a 360-degree premium experience with food, wine and DJ sets. The space has opened following a collaboration between Roma and Sport e Salute, whose chief executive Vito Cozzoli opened the room ahead of Thursday’s game.
Meanwhile, Roma’s deal with Enovation Consulting will see the company guide the club’s sustainability methodology. This will include community programmes and fan initiatives, with supporters having been invited to express their views through a survey.
The collaboration has already led to Roma being selected as the first pilot team of UEFA’s ‘Strength Through Unity’ 2030 football sustainability strategy.
Max Van den Doel, who is responsible for Roma’s sustainability programme, said: “AS Roma is working hard to define a solid sustainability programme for the future and we are focused on ensuring that this happens in the best possible way. We work on a strategy shaped around the needs of our time, always making sure that our fans are kept at the centre of the process.
“Our collaboration with Enovation has already been, and will continue to be, a determining factor in implementing the best possible roadmap for all the goals we want to achieve.”
Cristiana Pace, chief executive and founder of Enovation Consulting, added: “For over a decade I have been involved in projects related to sport and sustainability, I know first-hand the power of sport in bringing people together and driving positive change.
“I was born in Rome and I understand the strong link between the club, its city and the community. I am very proud that my company has been chosen to support AS Roma in its path to become a leader of sustainability in Italian and European football.”
