Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) team Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters has announced a major music event that will take place next month at its newly-built ballpark, ES CON Field Hokkaido.

The stadium, located in Kitahiroshima City, northern Hokkaido Prefecture, will host the event on March 28, two days before the team’s season opener against the Tohoku Rakuten Eagles. ES CON Field Hokkaido will officially open on March 14 with a Fighters pre-season game.

The music event will involve popular Japanese artists including INI, Travis Japan, EXILE TAKAHIRO×EXILE THE SECOND, and Little Glee Monster. Fighters Sports and Entertainment Co., Ltd., the company that owns and operates ES CON Field Hokkaido, announced last week that they have also signed a partnership with the Swiss sports brand On Japan, part of On Holdings.

This new partnership with On Japan has led to the creation of the ‘On Running Course’ which will go around ‘F Village’, the wider complex which includes the new baseball stadium. The 1.8km running course starts from the monument next to the third base entrance and can be used anytime.

Under this new partnership, the Fighters Flagship Store in the stadium plans to stock On running shoes from late April. In addition, the On SquadRace, a team running event held in European countries, will be staged in F Village this autumn. Details will be released in the spring.

Furthermore, Nippon-Ham announced last month that it has commenced taking reservations for the stadium onsen hot spring facility and hotel located inside ES CON Field Hokkaido during the first three games of the season. Applications for the onsen reservation draw on the Fighters official website were closed on Sunday with the winners of the draw to be announced tomorrow (Thursday).

The onsen and sauna have been designed so spectators can watch the game while bathing, with 30 tickets going on sale to the general public on match days for JPY6,000 (£38/€42/$46), and 55 tickets on non-match days at JPY3,300.

The ‘Totonoe Terrace Seat’, which includes reserve seating, is available on match days only for JPY15,000. All 12 hotel rooms have balcony or rooftop views of the game, with the suite room available on match days for JPY165,000 per night.
