Kansas City Current has released renderings of a planned Pitch Club space at its new stadium, which will be the first venue purpose-built for a National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) franchise.

The exclusive premium space will feature a rotating chef-driven menu and a custom-made craft cocktail list. The Pitch Club has been inspired by Kansas City’s 1920s art-deco architecture and the energy of an authentic dining car.

It is hoped the space will serve as the premier fan experience at the downtown stadium, which will have a capacity of 11,500 and is scheduled to open in time for the 2024 NWSL season.

The design of the Pitch Club is based on a reimagined heritage depiction of Union Station, featuring a walkthrough of local Kansas City history and a timeline of women’s soccer in the US. The space will offer guests an unparalleled view of the pitch and behind-the-scenes access.

The Current said that tickets for the Pitch Club are “extremely limited”, with season ticket members advised to contact their representative for more information.

Angie Long, co-owner of the Current, said: “The premium design and amenities showcase the best of Kansas City. Its decor is inspired by our city’s heritage and the food and beverage offering is led by James Beard award-winning chefs Colby and Megan Garrelts. We can’t wait to spend time with everyone in this special space.”

Last week, the Current extended its partnership with SeatGeek, which will power ticketing at the club’s new stadium.

The club released new renderings of the stadium back in December. The facility is being built at Berkley Riverfront Park and will cost $117m (£95m/€109m) to construct.

No seat in the stadium will be more than 100 feet from the pitch. Fans are able to guarantee a seat for the new stadium by buying a season ticket for the 2023 season, which the Current will spend at Children’s Mercy Park, home of Major League Soccer team Sporting Kansas City.
