Chris Stanley (pictured left) has been unveiled as the managing director of the 2027 Local Operating Company for Australia’s hosting of the Rugby World Cup. Stanley’s appointment follows the announcement of Sir Rod Eddington as the independent chair of the board of directors for both the men’s event in 2027 and the women’s in 2029. Stanley joins from MI Global Partners, where as CEO he developed a strong reputation in major sports event planning and delivery over more than two decades.

Shane Harmon (pictured right) has announced he is stepping down as chief executive at Sky Stadium later this year. Harmon, who has spent 10 years in the role at the Wellington venue, said he had been discussing the decision with the New Zealand stadium’s board since last year. “Having led the business through COVID, getting events back on track, overseeing some major capital projects and delivering on our obligations for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023, the timing will be right for me to consider what’s next,” said Harmon, who added that he has no plans about his next move.

Emily Eskin (pictured) has been appointed to the role of head of Levi’s Stadium events. Eskin has been at the venue for more than five years, overseeing all public events. She will continue to manage all bookings, promotions and operations around public events such as concerts and non-San Francisco 49ers sporting events, but will now also manage all private events as well.

Oak View Group has promoted Drew Gershenson to vice president of content at Acrisure Arena in Greater Palm Springs in Southern California, as well as the OVG Southwest Division. Gershenson will continue to lead the day-to-day programming of the Acrisure Arena as well as support other OVG-managed properties in the region, including Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, CA; Mullett Arena in Tempe, Arizona; and Tahoe Blue Arena, which is scheduled to open this summer in South Lake Tahoe.

Ticketing provider CTS Eventim has appointed Karsten Elbrecht as chief commercial officer ticketing Germany. Elbrecht’s primary tasks will include establishing efficient internal structures and sharpening the customer focus in one of CTS Eventim’s core markets.
