Oak View Group has promoted Keegan McDonald to president of mergers and acquisitions and development.
In his new role, he will continue reporting to OVG chief operating officer Francesca Bodie. He will assume additional responsibilities for OVG’s future M&A and investments for the company’s service business portfolio.
McDonald (pictured right), who previously served as vice-president of business development, will continue overseeing the raising of debt and equity, as well as transaction structuring and sourcing for OVG’s owned and operated developments. He joined OVG in 2017 from Goldman Sachs Sports Investment Banking Group.
ASM Global has announced that Tim Worton is stepping aside from his role as group director of arenas in the Asia-Pacific region.
Worton (pictured left) has worked in the entertainment industry for 33 years and spent 25 years at ASM Global. He will now become a full-time student at Moore Theological College in Sydney for 12 months, with the goal of then working in a pastoral, chaplaincy or ministry role.
Worton has served as ASM Global’s group director of arenas in APAC for the past 19 years.
Newly promoted League One football club Wrexham has appointed Michael Williamson as its new chief executive.
Williamson most recently worked as chief executive of Miami FC, which competes in the United Soccer League Championship. Prior to that, he was joint chief executive of Milan’s San Siro stadium and chief strategy officer at Inter Milan.
Williamson also spent over six years at D.C. United as chief financial officer and chief operating officer. He will replace Fleur Robinson as Wrexham chief executive.
Radhika Duggal has been named senior vice-president and chief marketing officer at Major League Soccer and Soccer United Marketing (SUM).
Duggal (pictured centre) will serve on the senior executive team at the league office, lead the creation of MLS’s marketing strategy and programmes, and drive the growth of the league’s global fan base.
She joins MLS and SUM after serving as chief marketing officer of fintech and ecommerce company Super.com. Duggal has also worked at JP Morgan Chase and Pfizer, and as a management consultant at Deloitte.
Shelly Cayette-Weston has been appointed president of business operations at Hornets Sports & Entertainment.
Cayette-Weston will oversee the day-to-day business operations of the company’s properties, including the Charlotte Hornets NBA team and the Spectrum Center arena.
She will begin her role on July 1 after spending 12 years with the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers, including the last two as executive vice-president and chief commercial officer. Cayette-Weston initially joined the Cavaliers’ partnership marketing department in 2012 before rising to vice-president of global partnerships and senior vice-president of global partnerships.
Championship football club Millwall has appointed Mark Fairbrother as managing director of non-football operations.
Fairbrother previously worked at the club as chief financial officer and company secretary. He returns to Millwall having most recently served as vice-president of finance at Formula E.
Fairbrother started his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers before entering football as head of finance at Aston Villa. He also worked as chief financial officer of Gloucester Rugby.
Kate Jenkins has been appointed as chair of the Australian Sports Commission for a five-year term.
Jenkins formerly served as Australian Sex Discrimination Commissioner and has 30 years of experience spanning human rights, discrimination, the law and sport. She has also served on the board of Australian Football League (AFL) club Carlton.
