The home of the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars will continue to be known as EverBank Stadium until the end of the 2027 season after the financial services company agreed a new three-year deal with the team.
The agreement is pending final approval by the City of Jacksonville. EverBank’s previous 10-year deal for the stadium was scheduled to expire after the upcoming 2024 NFL season.
The venue has been known as EverBank Stadium since last summer. From June 2018, the stadium was known as TIAA Bank Field following TIAA’s acquisition of EverBank.
Prior to that, the stadium had been known as EverBank Field since 2010. In July 2014, EverBank signed a new 10-year deal worth $43m (£33.8m/€40m) and TIAA took over this deal after acquiring the company.
Financial terms of the new deal were not disclosed.
Greg Seibly, chief executive of EverBank, said: “Like every Jaguars fan, all of us at EverBank are thrilled we’ll be able to continue to ‘Lock Down The Bank’ at home games for several years to come under this pending sponsorship agreement extension.
“As a Jacksonville-based company with a nationwide focus, our longstanding relationships on and off the field with the Jaguars, the NFL and the City of Jacksonville have enabled us to make a significant impact in the communities where we work and live, and we look forward to carrying on that great tradition.”
Jaguars president Mark Lamping added: “Over the years, EverBank has been synonymous with the home of the Jaguars, and we are thrilled to continue this relationship through an extended agreement.”
Last week, the Jaguars and the City of Jacksonville set out the terms of a proposed $1.4bn revamp of EverBank Stadium, stating that its financing would “compare favourably” to other major projects currently taking place in the NFL.
In what will be the largest public infrastructure investment in Jacksonville history, and the largest private investment in the history of downtown Jacksonville, the main stadium renovation element will cost around $1.25bn, split equally between the Jaguars and the city.
The Jaguars in July said they would seek to pursue a two-year continuous renovation model for EverBank Stadium under the ‘Stadium of the Future’ vision. The team earlier unveiled eye-catching conceptual designs for the project, which will see EverBank Stadium undergo major renovation work.
The project, nearly three years in the making, is designed to inspire a “transformation” of Downtown Jacksonville and secure the Jaguars’ future in Northeast Florida.
