Spanish LaLiga club FC Barcelona has announced Fortinet as the official cybersecurity partner of the future Camp Nou, while ONCE Social Group has also agreed a deal to promote accessibility at the new-look stadium.

Fortinet’s deal will run for three seasons, until June 30, 2028. As part of the agreement, Barcelona will provide a secure digital environment to the future Camp Nou by leveraging the company’s Security Fabric platform.

Barcelona’s deal with Fortinet will form part of the Espai Barça sponsorship programme. Last month, vertical transportation and urban mobility company TK Elevator was announced as the first signing of the new programme, which is designed to attract firms operating in the B2B and B2C sectors.

Fortinet’s Security Fabric platform includes FortiGate firewalls to protect the stadium’s Wi-Fi, operational technology infrastructure and data centre. The company’s Zero Trust Network Access and endpoint security will also protect users and devices accessing applications, while centralised management with AI-powered security analytics will seek to provide complete network visibility.

Meanwhile, ONCE has signed a four-year deal with Barcelona to promote accessibility and equality at the new Camp Nou. As part of the deal, an accessibility audit will be carried out at the stadium.

Barcelona has reportedly set December 15 as the date for its return to the Camp Nou. Work on the transformation of the stadium began in May last year and the club is currently playing at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys whilst the most significant renovation work at the Camp Nou is completed.

As a focal point of the wider Espai Barça infrastructure venture, the Camp Nou project will centre on an expansion of the stadium’s capacity from 98,000 to 105,000. The stadium will also be fully covered by a roof, while improvements to maximise its economic potential will be carried out, along with bringing the venue up to date in terms of innovation, technology, sustainability and accessibility.
