Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise the Detroit Tigers has unveiled plans for “some of the most significant upgrades to the fan experience” since Comerica Park opened in 2000.
The Tigers are in the midst of a multi-year renovation project at Comerica Park, with one of the most recent upgrades being the introduction of the second largest main video display in MLB. The club are now focusing on revamping seating options and, alongside parent company Ilitch Sports + Entertainment, have detailed new projects.
The Home Plate Club is designed to be Comerica Park’s most upscale club, bringing to Detroit a top-tier baseball experience combined with all-inclusive amenities and accommodations.
Featuring two premium seating options, the high-end club offers fans the choice of enjoying game action up close in plush infield seats directly behind home plate or from comfortable loge box seats above the action.
Highlighted by VIP parking, a private entrance, a dedicated bar and concierge team, private restrooms and an expansive fine dining experience, the Tigers said Home Plate Club will be its most exclusive and refined gameday option.
The Tigers are also planning a new premium seating area behind the plate and new semi-private Loge Boxes further up the lower bowl between the bases. The home-plate seats are set to be ready for the start of the 2025 season, while the Home Plate Club will be launched during next season.
Ilitch Sports + Entertainment president/CEO, Ryan Gustafson, said the venture comes in response to fan feedback in surveys. It also aims to ensure the Tigers keep pace with MLB’s newer ballparks that already include such offerings, as well as older facilities making similar upgrades.
“The announcement of our Home Plate Club and Loge Boxes showcases our organisation’s ongoing commitment to providing a first-class fan and player experience,” said Gustafson.
“Our goal is to continue investing and creating a variety of best-in-class experiences for all fans. Adding exclusive, premium seating options is feedback we’ve heard consistently, and we are thrilled to unveil these exciting upgrades during the 2025 season.”
