Belgian Pro League football club KAA Gent has announced plans for a pop-up bar experience at the Planet Group Arena.
The Bar Pelouse concept launches today (Monday) and will be open until July 4. The space will be located next to the stadium pitch and will be available for private rental.
On weekdays, a lunch menu will be available from 11:30am until 2pm, while a tapas menu will be offered from Monday to Thursday from 5pm until 11pm.
As well as food and drinks, the space will offer darts, a bouncy castle for children and shelter from rain or bright sunshine.
Bar Pelouse is a collaboration between The Arena Group and KAA Gent and is designed to open up the stadium to a wider audience.
Tom Vandenbulcke, communications manager at KAA Gent, said: “With Bar Pelouse, we offer a unique experience and we also open the doors of our stadium in the off-season to both football fans and ‘bon vivants’, from young to old.”
Last season, KAA Gent claimed a first for the Pro League by trialling a biometric entry system at the Planet Group Arena. The club teamed up with Belgian IT service company Perfect-ID and its Palmki palm authentication system on the venture.
