Tiger Woods co-founded TMRW Sports has finished its Series A investment round ahead of its TGL arena golf tournament’s launch

The investment round was co-led by Dynasty Equity and Connect Ventures. TMRW Sports was founded by golfers Woods and Rory McIlroy alongside media executive Nike McCarley.

No financial details were revealed as to how much money was raised.

The group’s first project is TGL, a new team golf league that combines technology and live action with six teams of PGA Tour athletes. It is set to launch in January 2025 airing on ESPN and ESPN+.

“As momentum has built for TMRW Sports’ vision to create modern media approaches to sports, we’re humbled by the enthusiasm within the investment community to support our efforts,” said McCarley.

“We continue to forge partnerships with the best-in-class, which includes Dynasty Equity and Connect Ventures leading this investment round and a diverse spectrum of expertise and strategic perspectives across our full roster of investors.

“The combination of these relationships and resources will help serve as a springboard for further development and expansion, including the continued focus and growth of TGL presented by SoFi and fuelling future projects, including new partnerships with major global sports leagues.”

Dynasty Equity has recently closed a strategic minority investment in Liverpool FC while Connect Ventures co-led the initial fundraising round for TMRW Sports. The overall investment group’s sports business experience spans NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, PGA Tour, Premier League, Formula 1 and more.

Chief executive of Dynasty Equity K. Don Cornwell is set to join the TMRW Sport Board of Directors as an observer.

“TMRW Sports is leading the evolution of sports, starting with TGL presented by SoFi, which will deliver an innovative product to millions of global golf fans and the broader sports community. And that is just the beginning for this great company,” said Cornwell.

“We share TMRW Sports’ vision and commitment to relentless innovation in sports – reimagining the playbook for sports media and entertainment and embracing technology to create experiences that will make sports more accessible to a broader audience.”

TMRW Sports is developing an arena on land at the Palm Beach State College campus that is designed to bring the game of golf closer to fans.

TGL plans to combine simulator golf with live action in front of arena crowds, with short game and putting taking place in the venue.
