Venues across England, including London’s O2, are set to stage screenings of this Sunday’s UEFA Euro 2024 final as England take on Spain.
The O2 will open its doors to 15,000 spectators for a special free showing presented by the Mayor of London’s office. A public ballot took place earlier today for free tickets for the event. Those attending can access food, beverages and live entertainment from 6pm.
Steve Sayer, the venue’s general manager, said: “We’re thrilled to be welcoming England fans to The O2 this Sunday to cheer on the Three Lions.
“It’s going to be an incredible atmosphere with up to 15,000 fans in the arena, and hopefully a memorable night of celebrations.”
Other venues showing the game in London include Alexandra Palace. The home of the PDC World Darts Championship is sold out for the event.
In Manchester, the AO Arena has been hosting more than 20,000 fans for England’s last two knockout games and will do the same for the final. In announcing its Road To Victory screening, the venue said: “AO Arena is transforming the iconic venue into a fully immersive football experience, complete with beer pong, penalty shoot-out and table football areas, all to be enjoyed with discounted pints.”
A number of stadiums will also be hosting screenings of the game. Premier League club Southampton’s St Mary’s will feature two giant screens and offer attendees discounted rates on snacks. Bristol City’s Ashton Gate will also welcome fans for the game, as will Plymouth Argyle and Barnet FC. Exeter City – once the home of England’s semi-final hero Ollie Watkins – will also show the game.
