Kimpton has been selected as the hotel partner for the new Westcourt sports and entertainment district in Orlando.

The collaboration will result in the building of a new hotel adjacent to the Kia Center which is home to NBA franchise Orlando Magic.

The hotel will feature more than 16,000 square feet of indoor meeting space, 261 rooms, and 11 stories.

“We’re thrilled to be a part of Westcourt and once again partner with JMA Ventures,” said Leanne Harwood, managing director for luxury and lifestyle in the Americas at IHG Hotels & Resorts, which owns Kimpton.

“We first teamed up with JMA on our beloved Kimpton Sawyer and now on our new Orlando hotel.

“We join Westcourt on a journey to provide guests with a one-of-a kind boutique respite, which will open the door to an array of new and expansive experiences for travellers and locals to enjoy within the heartbeat of the city.”

The new Kimpton Orlando will be the company’s seventh hotel in Florida.

Westcourt is due to cost around $500m (£393m/€457m) and is being developed by the Magic and SED Development in conjunction with JMA Ventures and Machete Group which will deliver the district.

It is intended to be an inclusive, vibrant community hub featuring a 3,500-capacity live entertainment venue, 270 residential units, office space, and multiple dining and shopping options.

The development also includes a 1,140-stall parking garage and a 1.5-acre multipurpose outdoor ‘urban living’ room green space.

Westcourt is scheduled for delivery beginning in late 2026 through to early 2027, and is projected to create 3,400 jobs.

The City of Orlando granted final approval for the district in late April.
