Intuit Dome, the new home arena of the LA Clippers that is scheduled to open today (Thursday), has named cloud analytics and AI data platform Teradata as a founding partner.

Teradata will also serve as the official cloud analytics partner of the Clippers and the arena (pictured), and will receive a special entitlement on the venue’s Halo Loft level.

The 18,000-capacity Intuit Dome will open with a Bruno Mars concert this evening.

Staying in the NBA, the Atlanta Hawks and State Farm Arena have announced a partnership with Verizon.

As the official 5G wireless partner and a technology partner of the Hawks and State Farm Arena, Verizon will leverage its advanced network capabilities to enhance connectivity during games and events. Verizon Business will work with the Hawks to make technology upgrades throughout the arena.

Elsewhere, integrated payments and commerce technology company Shift4 has been selected to power all ticket sales and foodservice payments at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, home of the NBA’s Indiana Pacers.

Shift4’s all-in-one solution will seek to streamline operations for the arena and enhance the guest experience.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has announced an expansion of its Worldwide Olympic Partnership with professional services company Deloitte.

Deloitte will serve as the ‘technology integration partner’ for all Olympic, Paralympic and Youth Olympic Games, starting with Milano-Cortina 2026 and running through to Brisbane 2032. Deloitte will design, build, implement, operate and secure the technology integration, application development and cybersecurity services for the Games.

The New York Mets Major League Baseball team has unveiled its first-ever fan loyalty programme.

Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium has launched a new app offering exclusive food and beverage deals, a stadium radio and a fan cam.

The app also allows visitors to book a car parking spot, manage event tickets and navigate their way around the stadium. Users can personalise their visit by filtering core outlets and facilities that are closest to their seat.

English Premier League club Southampton has signed a partnership with venue security technology provider 2CL for the 2024-25 season.

2CL will fit high-spec CCTV cameras at St Mary’s Stadium. The company will serve as Southampton’s official venue security technology supplier, as well as a regional partner of the club.

Spanish LaLiga club Atlético de Madrid has agreed a sponsorship deal with logistics company InPost.

As part of the deal, InPost’s Lockers delivery points will be situated around the Cívitas Metropolitano. InPost will also have its own area in the fan zone outside of the stadium on match days.

The Miami Dolphins NFL team has agreed a deal with video-sharing platform and cloud services provider Rumble.

The Dolphins and Hard Rock Stadium will leverage infrastructure services from Rumble Cloud as part of the deal, which is designed to grow the team’s business operations.

The tech-focused TGL golf league has announced Toptracer as its official ball-tracing partner.

TGL will launch in early 2025 at the custom-built SoFi Center arena on the campus of Palm Beach State College in Florida. Toptracer’s camera sensors will track ball flights on tee and approach shots taken into TGL’s screen and extrapolate the remaining trajectory of each shot.
