The New Orleans Saints NFL team has unveiled the final updates of Caesars Superdome’s $560m (£430m/€504m) transformation ahead of the new season, which will culminate in the stadium hosting the Super Bowl on February 9.
The project has been funded by the Saints, the Louisiana Stadium & Exposition District (LSED), and the State of Louisiana. The team has committed nearly $180m towards the five-year project.
The project has been completed ahead of the Saints’ first home preseason game against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. Ahead of the game, the Saints have been unveiling the final updates of the stadium’s transformation, and so far four separate announcements have been made.
Renovations include wireless and cellular upgrades, vertical transportation upgrades, three new atriums, new premium spaces, two new 40-yard bars, technology improvements, a transformed food and beverage service, and enhanced accessibility for disabled fans and guests with sensory issues.
A total of 32 new large antennas have been fitted at the stadium to provide upgraded coverage for fans on game days. All guests will also have multiple vertical transportation options throughout the Superdome, with the stadium’s ramp system having been removed.
Fans are also encouraged to refer to their mobile ticket before entering the stadium and use the ‘Personal Game Plan’, which includes detailed maps to provide the quickest and most efficient route possible to reach their specific seat location.
The start of the new season will introduce fans to large atriums, creating views of the upper concourse from the plaza level. Two of the atriums were fitted last season, with a third added for the new campaign.
New premium spaces also form a major part of the renovation project and will provide enhanced amenities for guests at Saints games and other events hosted at the Superdome. The Caesars Legends Club, located on the 200 level, will include a new bar and concession area exclusively for club-level ticket holders with direct escalator and elevator access.
The VIP loge level will also feature new concourse enhancements and exclusive access to upscale bars, markets offering food and beverage options, and refined concessions. The loge clubs will also offer a panoramic view of New Orleans.
The Mercedes-Benz End Zone Club, which debuted in 2021, will continue to offer a premium experience with all-inclusive beer, wine and snacks. Other offerings will include the Hancock Whitney Lower Suite Level, Venture Global Upper Suite Level, and premium bunker club lounges,
Saints president Dennis Lauscha said: “A major impetus for the five-year transformation of the Caesars Superdome was to reimagine our guest experience for all of our customers and make it as fan-friendly as possible. Now we are able to offer innovative suites, bars, food and dining options and meeting spaces for our premium customers that offer the best in quality and service available.”
In July 2021, the Saints signed a 20-year partnership with Caesars Entertainment for naming rights to the stadium. The deal was worth a reported $138m and the Saints pledged to spend the income on the Superdome renovation project.
