People on the move: Chelsea, CTS Eventim and more

English Premier League club Chelsea has announced that Jason Gannon has been promoted to president and chief operating officer, taking over from Chris Jurasek.

Gannon will take responsibility for all of the club’s business areas and report directly to the board. Jurasek will transition back to become an operating executive with Clearlake Capital, the co-controlling owners of Chelsea.

Gannon joined Chelsea as chief operating officer in October last year. He previously worked as managing director of SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park in Los Angeles as part of the Kroenke Organisation.

Chelsea has also announced that James Bonington, the club’s general counsel, has been promoted to chief legal and corporate affairs officer, while James Murray, chief of staff and head of business operations, has been named chief strategy officer and head of business operations.

Rob Wilmshurst, co-founder and long-standing chief executive of See Tickets UK, has assumed responsibility for all ticketing activities at CTS Eventim Group in the UK.

Martin Fitzgerald, previously managing director of Eventim UK, is leaving the company at his own request to devote more time to personal projects outside the ticketing industry. John Gibson will also remain with the company as managing director of Eventim UK and will be part of an expanded management team under Wilmshurst’s leadership.

Tom Doyle has started a new role as senior vice-president of venue development for Live Nation in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Doyle previously served as vice-president of European project development at Legends. In a LinkedIn post announcing his new role, Doyle said he is looking forward to helping Live Nation deliver “game-changing venues in special cities”.

The Olympic Council of Asia has appointed India’s Randhir Singh as its new president.

Singh has been elected unopposed to serve a four-year term from 2024 to 2028. He has been acting president since 2021 due to an investigation into the election of former president Sheikh Talal Fahad Al Ahmad Al Sabah.
