Real Madrid has been forced to reschedule upcoming concerts at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu to comply with local noise pollution regulations.

The LaLiga club said that compliance with municipal regulations has been affected despite soundproofing work that has been carried out at the stadium.

A show from Dellafuente on November 15 has been postponed, along with Aitana gigs scheduled for December 28 and 29. Lola Índigo’s concert on March 22 will also be rescheduled.

A Music Bank concert, which had been due to take place on October 12 and would have featured several K-pop acts, has been cancelled outright.

Real Madrid said it will continue to work to ensure that the “right conditions” for sound production and broadcasting are met during concerts to enable future events to go ahead.

In a statement, the club added: “Real Madrid will continue to collaborate with the Comunidad de Madrid and the Madrid City Council for sustainability and coexistence, and its objective will always be to ensure that the stadium’s activities guarantee its commitment to the city of Madrid and are beneficial to its surroundings.”

Real Madrid has been hosting more concerts at the Bernabéu after the stadium underwent a huge transformation project, which included the installation of a retractable roof and a multi-purpose pitch. Taylor Swift performed two sold-out gigs at the stadium in May, while Karol G and Luis Miguel also held shows at the stadium over the summer.

Locals have complained that the noise levels at the Bernabéu are in breach of city rules and claimed that the stadium is not properly soundproofed.

The Bernabéu’s new status as a multi-purpose will be cemented next year when it hosts a regular-season NFL game. Madrid will be the fourth European city to host an NFL regular-season game, after London, Frankfurt and Munich.

The Bernabéu’s revamp has already contributed to a boost in revenues for Real Madrid. In July, the club claimed an operating income landmark of €1.073bn (£904m/$1.19bn), highlighting the huge rise in revenue generated by the stadium.

Despite the business elements related to the Bernabéu’s grand revamp being not fully complete, there has been a progressive increase in terms of capacity and commercial operations over the course of the year.
