Frontwave Arena, a new multi-purpose sports and entertainment venue, has officially opened its doors, making its debut yesterday (Monday) with the Gold Over America Tour featuring US Olympian and the most-decorated gymnast in history, Simone Biles.
The 7,500-capacity arena is based in Oceanside, California’s El Corazon Park, and will showcase sports, music, comedy, family shows and community events. A second date for the Gold Over America Tour is scheduled for today.
Frontwave Arena will also serve as the new home of Major Arena Soccer League’s San Diego Sockers, as well as the newly announced NBA G League team San Diego Clippers. Additional sporting events already scheduled include the AVP Beach Volleyball League, International FANCLB Cup – USA vs Mexico, and the LA Clippers v Brooklyn Nets National Basketball Association (NBA) pre-season game on October 8.
A slew of live music performances have already been pencilled in for the new venue, including Rock 105.3’s Rocktoberfest, JAM’N 95.7 presents Monsters of Hip Hop, Magic 92.5’s Freestyle Explosion, and KSON Country Christmas. The venue’s grand opening concert will feature rock band Cake, and will be held in partnership with BellyUp Entertainment on October 5.
