Spanish LaLiga club RCD Espanyol has partnered with music promoters Produceme and Concert Studio to open up RCDE Stadium to more music events from 2025 onwards.

The Barcelona-based club said the partnership marks a “significant milestone” in the marketing and production of concerts at the stadium, which has a capacity of 40,000.

It is hoped the stadium will become a reference point for major music concerts going forward. The first artists to perform at the stadium have not yet been revealed, with acts set to be announced next month.

“This agreement represents an opportunity to attract big names in music and also to offer spectators an unrivalled experience in a modern and well-equipped environment,” the club said in a statement. “The collaboration between these three entities promises to transform the RCDE Stadium into the reference venue for musical events.”

RCDE Stadium has hosted concerts in the past, with Black Eyed Peas and Rammstein among the acts to have performed at the stadium.

The announcement comes after rival LaLiga club Real Madrid was recently forced to reschedule upcoming concerts at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu to comply with local noise pollution regulations.

In July, Espanyol terminated its five-year stadium naming-rights deal with ticketing group Stage Front, citing non-payment and breach of contract. The club said it would also be taking legal action against Stage Front as it sought money it claimed to be owed.

Stage Front later hit back at Espanyol, claiming that breach of contract in specific relation to ticket sales was behind the termination of the stadium naming-rights deal between the two parties.

The deal, announced in June 2023, was reportedly worth a minimum of €1m (£841,000/$1.1m) per year but was said to rise to closer to €2m following Espanyol’s return to LaLiga ahead of this season.

RCDE Stadium is one of 11 venues put forward by the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) to stage matches at the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which Spain will co-host alongside Portugal and Morocco. Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay will also host “celebratory” matches during the tournament.
