AS Roma has announced that Lina Souloukou has resigned as chief executive of the Italian Serie A club.

Souloukou (pictured left) joined Roma in April 2023, having previously served as chief executive of Greek club Olympiacos between 2018 and 2022. Roma did not give a reason for her departure, which comes after the club sacked manager Daniele De Rossi last week.

Souloukou had been involved in Roma’s plans for a new stadium, which the club unveiled a first design concept for in July. Roma has said that the Populous-designed stadium will feature the largest single stand in Europe.

Chelsea Women has appointed Aki Mandhar as its first-ever dedicated chief executive.

Chelsea commenced a search to appoint a chief executive for its women’s team following the repositioning of the side as part of plans to grow dedicated resources independent of the men’s team. Mandhar (pictured right) will take on responsibility for all business areas of Chelsea Women.

Mandhar most recently worked with the New York Times and played a key role in launching The Athletic in the UK. She previously worked as chief operating officer at the Daily Telegraph and as a managing director of MediaCom, where she was responsible for its entertainment division.

Last week saw Manchester’s two main arenas, Co-op Live and AO Arena, announce senior hires.

Co-op Live named Guy Dunstan as its new general manager and senior vice-president, while AO Arena appointed Gemma Vaughan (pictured centre) as its acting general manager.

German Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach has named Stefan Stegemann as its new chief executive.

Stegemann will join the club on January 1 and will succeed long-standing chief executive Stephan Schippers. Stegemann has been a vice-president of the club’s executive board since May 2022.

English League Two club MK Dons has appointed Neil Hart as its new chief executive.

Hart joins the club from League One side Bolton Wanderers, where he spent three years as chief executive. Before joining Bolton, he was chief executive of Burnley.

Last month, MK Dons and the wider Stadium MK Group came under Kuwaiti ownership, with Pete Winkelman ending his control of the club after almost two decades at the helm.
