Regional Creation Nagasaki, the company operating Nagasaki Stadium City, has announced that a new cashless payment system, StaPAY, and loyalty program, StaPo, will be available on the multi-functional complex’s official app from October 4.
The complex expects the introduction of the new payment system will make it easier and faster for visitors to pay for their purchases by ensuring shorter waiting times and smoother transactions.
StaPAY is a QR code payment system on the Nagasaki Stadium City’s official app and its users can register their bank account or credit card information, as well as cash recharge, to start using it at the complex.
The payment system is also user-friendly for those who do not have smartphones or even mobile phones as it can also be provided in the form of a physical prepaid card and a paper receipt, for one-day use.
By using StaPAY at the complex, visitors will earn StaPo points which can be exchanged for vouchers, tickets, and other merchandise. Visitors will also earn StaPo points once a day by simply visiting Nagasaki Stadium City and connecting with the complex’s Wi-Fi.
Regional Creation Nagasaki also announced in July that the company signed a partnership agreement with Nagasaki Electric Tramway in an effort to ensure that visitors will find it easy to get to the complex using the city’s public transport.
Under the agreement, Regional Creation Nagasaki acquired naming rights for the Tramway’s Takara-machi and Zenza-machi tram stops which will be named Stadium City South and Stadium City North, respectively, from October 1.
Noriaki Nakashima, president and CEO of Nagasaki Electric Tramway, said: “As the official opening of Nagasaki Stadium City is fast approaching, we have been having conversations about numerous topics with Regional Creation Nagasaki. With our role as the region’s pubic transport in mind, we have decided to sign a partnership agreement with the company so that we can work together to revitalise Nagasaki and solve potential issues surrounding transport and traffic.
“We hope to see many visitors, coming both from inside and outside the Nagasaki prefecture, using our trams to go to the Stadium City. We will also continue to work towards coming up with new ideas and creating fun events for our children to enjoy their tram experiences.”
