English Premier League club Manchester City has announced a new partnership with Spanish-based sports venue advertising company StairMedia.
StairMedia provides LED technology systems that enable advertising staircase steps within sports venues. It claims to be the only company in the world authorised to commercialise this system.
Last year, the technology was implemented at the Etihad Stadium and City has now struck an official partnership with StairMedia. The technology provides more brand exposure for club sponsors on match days.
Xtract One Technologies has announced that its SmartGateway screening solution has been rolled out at UBS Arena, home of the NHL’s New York Islanders.
The contract has been enabled through the company’s partnership with arena operator Oak View Group. Xtract One will provide frictionless fan screening to optimise UBS Arena’s patron experience while bolstering safety and security.
The SmartGateway screening will secure key entrances for NHL games, concerts and other events at UBS Arena. The system leverages AI-powered sensors to detect threats when guests are entering a venue.
The Cleveland Browns NFL franchise has teamed up with Aramark Sports + Entertainment and facial recognition software provider Wicket to roll out a large-scale deployment of ‘Express Access’ concessions at Huntington Bank Field.
The Browns are also working with technology partners Tapin2 and Mashgin on the rollout, which allows fans to use an innovative grab-and-go concessions model from anywhere in the stadium.
Wicket is also one of six companies that have been selected by Major League Soccer for the second cohort of its MLS Innovation Lab initiative, alongside Edge Sound Research, Oliver Sports, Soccerment, Sportlight and Lubu Technologies.
Edge Sound Research is a US-based company that provides multi-modal audio technology for venues and virtual environments, while Spain-based Oliver Sports makes elite-level data accessible for football players and clubs. Soccerment is based in Italy and provides AI-driven data analytic tools and tracking solutions to enhance analysis of football.
Sportlight is a UK-based sports tech startup focusing on athlete tracking and injury risk management, while Los Angeles-based Lubu Technologies develops AI-powered wearable technologies aimed at improving athletic performance and recovery.
Evolv Technology has been announced as the official fan screening provider of the Charlotte Hornets NBA team.
As part of the deal, Evolv Express systems will be used to screen fans at Spectrum Center’s entrances. The partnership will enable fans to enter the arena faster and ties in with the Re!magine Spectrum Center renovation project.
Elsewhere in the NBA, the Milwaukee Bucks have agreed a partnership with multinational technology company Wilo Group.
Wilo will serve as the first global sustainability partner of the Bucks and Fiserv Forum. The Bucks will work with Wilo on sustainability projects and initiatives, with the company to also benefit from courtside brand exposure at Fiserv Forum.
The Vegas Golden Knights NHL team has launched a new mobile app to provide fans with access to tickets, arena information and more.
The app has been developed by Las Vegas-based Everi, which becomes the official mobile application partner of the Golden Knights. The app will include access to T-Mobile Arena maps and a daily Golden Knights word game, and will also serve as a hub for fans to purchase, access or transfer game tickets.
