FC Barcelona has revealed today (Monday) that the capacity of Spotify Camp Nou is expected to be around 62,000 when the stadium reopens for fans later this season.

Barcelona has not set a specific date for its return to the Camp Nou, which is undergoing major renovation work. The stadium’s capacity is set to be 105,000 once work is fully completed, but the club will be moving back in while the renovation continues.

In July, it emerged that Barcelona was planning on reopening the Camp Nou at a capacity of 64,000 in December, with the venue on track to be fully ready by 2026. The club has confirmed today that the capacity will be slightly lower than previously communicated.

Barcelona said that supporters will enter the stadium via a temporary access control system. Permanent seating will already be installed by the time the stadium partially reopens, along with temporary lighting and toilet facilities in the first and second tiers.

The stadium will also offer catering services and other amenities, while 200 parking spaces will be available, although they will be reserved for club commitments.

Supporters wishing to secure a season ticket for the second half of the season at the Camp Nou will have from October 11-23 to register their interest. A total of 45,000 will be made available, and a draw will be made if demand exceeds supply.

Barcelona has been playing at the Estadi Olímpic Lluis Companys since the start of the 2023-24 season while work is carried out at the Camp Nou. Fans who purchased a season ticket in 2023-24 will have an exclusive 72-hour period to purchase a half-season ticket without needing to register.

The seats will be distributed across the grandstand, lateral zones, goal ends, and corners of the first and second tiers, with the third tier still under construction. Prices will range from €755 (£633/$829) for a central grandstand pass in the second tier to €260 for a goal-end pass in the first tier.

A variable seating system will be in place, meaning that the season ticket holder will choose their preferred zone but not a specific seat, which will be assigned match by match. Up to six seats can be grouped together.

Barcelona has not yet confirmed exactly when it will return to the partially open Camp Nou. The club has three home matches in December, including one against Atlético Madrid on December 22.

It remains a possibility that the return to Camp Nou will be pushed back, in which case the club’s first home match after the winter break, against Valencia on January 25, could be a more realistic target.
