Capital One Arena, home of the NHL’s Washington Capitals and NBA’s Washington Wizards, has announced a host of upgrades, including new courtside lounge seats.
The courtside lounge seats, which will be sponsored by Michelob Ultra, will be available for Wizards games and will provide unique vantage points just steps from the court.
The offering will include plush oversized seats, tabletop seating, and access to the Monumental VIP Club. Seats will be available for purchase on a full or partial season ticket basis, as well as for individual games, subject to availability.
The seats will complement the existing Signature Club & Lounge, which debuted at the end of the 2023-24 NBA and NHL seasons.
Throughout the NHL season, Capitals fans will also be invited to visit a 50th anniversary concourse display at Section 103 of the arena. The display will feature memorabilia from the team’s history, including jerseys and equipment.
Aramark Sports + Entertainment, the arena’s exclusive food and beverage partner, has also revealed an updated line-up of options for the new NBA and NHL seasons.
Options will include Vietnamese street food from PhoWheels, corn dogs from Kong Dog, tacos from Little Miner Taco, snacks from Astro Donut, and Asian and American food from Fuku. Capital One Arena’s food and beverage offering will also include Pat & Stuggs, Jerk at Nite, Tonari, Little Hot Chicken, Midnight Treats and Beeliner Diner.
Jordan Silberman, president of venues at Monumental Sports & Entertainment, parent company of Capital One Arena, said: “We strive to ensure the experience for all fans and visitors at Capital One Arena is unparalleled, starting from the time fans leave for the event until they arrive home.
“Guests attending games, concerts, or any other events this year can expect delicious, creative new food and beverage options, updated experiences in premium spaces and sightlines to the action, and a welcoming atmosphere all season long.”
The updates have been announced with Capital One Arena set to undergo a much wider renovation project.
Back in March, MSE reached an agreement with the District of Columbia to revamp the arena after dropping plans for an entertainment district in Virginia that would have housed a new arena for the Wizards and Capitals.
The District has committed to financing of $500m (£383m/€458m) towards a renovation of Capital One Arena, and will provide an additional $15m towards improvements of the alley connecting the venue to the Gallery Place shopping centre.
The Capital One Arena financing package was signed off in April, but there has been little news since then regarding what is planned for the venue.
