ASM Global has named Martin McGougan as its regional director of business development for the Middle East and North Africa.

McGougan (pictured left) has over 20 years of industry experience across the Middle East and Scotland. For the past 10 years, he has been based at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, where he worked as head of sales.

McGougan previously worked as business development manager for Glasgow’s Scottish Event Campus. In his new role, he will be based in the Saudi capital of Riyadh and will identify potential venue management opportunities for ASM Global across the MENA region.

ASM Global has also announced the appointment of Santiago Olea to the role of general manager of Riyadh’s King Abdullah Financial District Conference Center.

Olea (pictured centre) joins from media company MBC Group, where he was chief operating officer for MBC Events. He previously managed venues for Live Nation in the Middle East.

ASM Global has also appointed Alan Pryor as general manager of Exhibition World Bahrain.

Pryor (pictured right) has more than 40 years of experience in international convention and hotel management, including as general manager for the ASM Global-operated Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

League One football club Wrexham has appointed Rob Faulkner as its new chief business and communications officer.

Faulkner will join Wrexham on December 1 from his role as communications and marketing director of the European Club Association. He will be responsible for all commercial and communications activities at the club, including marketing, partnership management, retail and merchandising, ticketing, and hospitality.

Faulkner has previously worked for UEFA, Inter Milan, European Athletics, Yamaha and Toyota. He will report directly to Wrexham chief executive Michael Williamson.

Real estate development company Seregh has appointed Ric Clark to its board of directors and newly formed investment committee.

Clark formerly served as chairman and chief executive of Brookfield Property Group, helping grow the company’s assets under management from $5bn (£3.8bn/€4.6bn) to more than $200bn.

Mitchell Schear, who currently sits on the Seregh board, has also joined the company’s investment committee. The appointments of Clark and Schear are designed to further drive Seregh’s focus on large-scale, mixed-use developments around sports and entertainment venues.

Rugby League Commercial has named Joe Steel as its new director of marketing and communications.

Steel will join RL Commercial in early December from the England and Wales Cricket Board. Since February last year, he has served as marketing director for The Hundred, the ECB’s short-form competition, and recently spent time as acting director of marketing for the governing body.
