BSE Global and Populous have unveiled two new open-concept, premium membership clubs at Barclays Center as part of the first phase of a five-year plan to enhance the fan experience.
The two spaces – The Toki Row and JetBlue at The Key – were launched on Friday ahead of the Brooklyn Nets’ first home game of the new NBA season. The spaces are located on the Club Level of Barclays Center.
Barclays Center’s five-year renovation project will cost $100m (£76.9m/€92.5m) and is focused on enhancing the fan experience at the arena. It is the largest renovation project in the arena’s 12-year history.
The arena recently fitted a new retractable seating system to maximise its operational efficiencies, and other future projects will include a communal gathering space, improved food and beverage offerings on the upper concourse, upgrading and adding to existing premium spaces, upgrading arena entrances, and a new centrehung board and sound system.
Upcoming renovations, as with the one just completed, will be carried out with no disruption to ongoing events at the arena.
BSE Global announced plans for its two new Populous-designed club spaces back in March. The spaces feature private dining experiences equipped with elevated food stations and destination bars. Renovation work was led by architects at Populous, while Shawmut Design and Construction served as the construction manager.
Membership for the two spaces will provide access to all Nets games, as well as all games played by the WNBA’s New York Liberty. The clubs will also grant access to all concerts and events at the arena.
The Toki Row is accessible exclusively to 192 guests and incorporates design details and decoration inspired by the brownstone row homes found throughout Brooklyn. JetBlue at The Key will include reserved seating for 252 guests and will offer communal tables repurposed from previous Nets courts, a full-service private bar, interactive games and a 44-foot media wall.
Shannon Ferguson, chief hospitality officer at BSE Global, said: “Our guests are crucial to the success of Barclays Center, and we are dedicated to delivering a world-class experience for them.
“By being proactive in our thinking and staying ahead of the curve, we will provide the sports and entertainment experience we know our guests are looking for. We are excited to begin this journey by opening The Toki Row and JetBlue at The Key, and look forward to creating timeless, non-traditional experiences that build generational fandom and bring new audiences together in unique ways.”
