Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) is currently providing cost management services for the construction of the new Grand Stade Hassan II stadium, which is set to be the largest football stadium in the world with a seating capacity of 115,000. This project is being developed for L’agence National Des Equipments Publics (ANEP).

The RLB team was brought on board in early 2024 and is working alongside the renowned architecture firms, Oualalou + Choi and Populous, that won the competition to design the stadium set to be built in Casablanca for the 2030 World Cup

The RLB team, alongside RLB France and Moroccan consultant BETB, are delivering full cost management services, and are working collaboratively with the design team to ensure the project’s success.

Grand Stade Hassan II will be located in Benslimane, east of Casablanca, and its design draws inspiration from traditional Moroccan Moussem tents. This influence is most noticeable in the expansive roof that will cover the seating areas. Not only will this be the largest stadium in Morocco, but it will also hold the title of the largest stadium globally, with nearly double the capacity of the country’s current largest league stadium, Ibn Batouta, which holds 65,000 spectators.

The project also includes infrastructure development in the Casablanca-Settat region. Significant effort has been made to prevent traffic congestion, ensuring smooth access for fans and event logistics.

Designed to meet all FIFA competition standards, the stadium is set to host matches for the 2030 FIFA World Cup, with Morocco named as a joint host alongside Spain and Portugal. Additionally, it will become the home stadium for two local football clubs.
