The San Diego Padres Major League Baseball team has announced plans to renovate the Western Metal Supply Co. Building at Petco Park.
The project includes a complete makeover of the Padres New Era Team Store, the Budweiser Loft on the fifth level of the ballpark, and the Rooftop.
The team store will expand by around 1,000 square feet of new floor space and will include more checkout locations, new modern finishes, lighting and optimised merchandise displays. The Sony Entertainment Suite and exterior deck will also be transformed with additional field-facing seats, a new premium catering layout and increased in-suite privacy.
The new Budweiser Loft features an elevated social space and includes a renovated bar, new focused lighting, new premium furniture and games, and a transformed Foul Pole Suite. The Budweiser Loft will continue to be open to general ticketed fans and serve as a Member Happy Hour location on game days unless booked for a private group.
The Western Metal Building will also be fitted with a new grand staircase for the first time, connecting the Budweiser Loft directly to the fully renovated Western Metal Rooftop. The remodelled Rooftop will feature a 4,000-square-foot raised deck that offers all-new sight lines and increased capacity for more guests.
The Rooftop will also include new private toilets, a new covered trellis providing shade and overhead heating, new premium lounge seating, and two new video boards measuring 16 by nine feet. Priority for Rooftop private events and gameday experiences will be given to groups of 300 guests or more.
Construction on the Western Metal Building has already begun and will be finished in time for the Padres’ 2025 opening day on March 27. The building’s brick façade will remain untouched.
