The next three editions of the EuroLeague Women Final Six basketball event are set to take place in Zaragoza’s 10,744-capacity Pabellón Príncipe Felipe arena.
The awarding of the hosting rights to the Spanish city comes as a result of the strategic partnership between FIBA Europe and host club Casademont Zaragoza.
It will come into effect for this season’s finale, which is scheduled for April 9-13, 2025, and will last through to the 2026-27 campaign.
“We are excited to announce Zaragoza as the Final Six host for the next three seasons. It is a city that loves basketball and is home to some of the most passionate fans in Europe,” said FIBA Europe president Jorge Garbajosa.
“I would like to extend my gratitude not only to the host club, Casademont Zaragoza, but also the regional government of Aragon, the city of Zaragoza and the Spanish Basketball Federation for making this long-term vision come to life.”
This season, which began on October 9, is the first to feature the Final Six.
It is held in the centralised Aragonese venue and features the six best teams from the regular season. They will compete in a knockout tournament to determine the league champion.
“Hosting the Final Six in Zaragoza is a collective achievement for all of us who pushed to bring this great event to our territory, which will be enjoyed not only by basketball fans, but by everyone who loves the sport and the spectacle,” said Casademont Zaragoza president Reynaldo Benit.
“We thank FIBA for the trust placed in the Aragon Government, the city of Zaragoza and Casademont Zaragoza and we hope to repay it with a successful organisation of the first edition of the EuroLeague Women’s Final Six.”
The Pabellón Príncipe Felipe arena opened in April 1990 and has hosted the men’s EuroLeague Final Four twice, in the year of its inauguration as well as in 1995.
