Unity Arena, Norway’s largest multi-purpose arena, has unveiled a range of upgrades as part of plans to create the “optimal concert experience”.

The arena is now adapted for concerts with capacities of between 5,000 and 25,000 fans, with the venue able to be divided into three sizes.

The smallest size, Box, will be utilised for events with between 5,000 and 10,000 fans, while the middle size, Bowl, will be used for 10,000 to 16,000-capacity events. The Arena mode will be adapted for events housing between 16,000 and 25,000 spectators.

The arena will also have greater capacity in bars and kiosks, as well as a wider range of food offerings. Upgrades have also been rolled out for the arena’s sound system.

In 2025, Unity Arena will host concerts from the likes of Sabrina Carpenter, Billie Eilish, The Offspring and Simply Red. The arena will also host the men’s World Handball Championship in January.

The upgrades at the arena have been facilitated by major changes to the venue’s roof rigging. The new arena acoustics have been fitted by Vanguardia, which previously worked on the Sphere arena in Las Vegas.

Unity Arena has also partnered with Oak View Group to further develop the guest experience.

Martin Nielsen, head promoter at Live Nation Norway, said: “With the measures that have been taken in the arena, we look forward to an exciting time with many and varied concerts at Unity Arena. We are confident that the steps taken with the scaling, the soundscape and the catering will make the arena perfect for smaller concerts as well.”

Jessica Koravos, president of OVG International, added: “OVG are very pleased to collaborate with the team at Unity Arena. The aim is to make the experience for the fans even better, now that they plan to welcome more guests than ever. OVG will support the delivery of successful events at the arena. We look forward to a hectic 2025 with many top international artists at Unity Arena.”

Unity Arena opened in 2009 and was formerly known as Telenor Arena. It is located in Fornebu, near the capital city of Oslo.
