Verizon has announced plans for a Super Bowl FanFest experience in 30 NFL cities across the US in what has been billed as a first-of-its-kind event.
On Super Bowl Sunday on February 9, fans will be able to sample free celebrations with food and beverages from local businesses, meet and greets with local NFL stars, live music acts, interactive games and other experiences.
The FanFest will provide “once-in-a-lifetime” field and stadium access at NFL venues such as MetLife Stadium, SoFi Stadium, Nissan Stadium, Empower Field at Mile High Stadium, and more. Fans will be able to spike a ball in the endzone and tour the locker rooms as part of the experience.
Each event will feature tailgates and food prepared by local chefs, while in selected cities fans will also have access to exclusive team memorabilia. FanFests across the country will take place on February 9 at 4pm ET (1pm PT).
Verizon customers will receive free tickets to the FanFests on a first-come, first-served basis. The experiences will differ depending on the city, with the local weather to be taken into account.
Leslie Berland, executive vice-president and chief marketing officer at Verizon, said: “Super Bowl LIX is the most anticipated sporting event of the year, but few get to experience it in person; we wanted to bring that collective excitement and energy to fans across the country with once-in-a-lifetime access they’ll never forget.
“Verizon is the only brand that can do something like this; we’re leveraging the power of our sponsorships, national and local partnerships across the country to put our customers at the centre of this incredible event.”
This year’s Super Bowl will take place at Caesars Superdome, home of the New Orleans Saints. Verizon is the official 5G network of the NFL and will host additional events in New Orleans surrounding the Super Bowl that will be announced soon.
