All season tickets for the Athletics’ first season at Sutter Health Park in Sacramento have sold out, the Major League Baseball (MLB) team has announced.
The A’s will spend three years at Sutter Health Park before moving to a new 33,000-capacity ballpark in Las Vegas. Last year, the team played out its final season at the Oakland Coliseum, which had been its home since 1968.
Sutter Health Park is located in West Sacramento and is home to Minor League Baseball team the Sacramento River Cats. It has a capacity of 14,014, which includes 10,624 permanent fixed seats.
Single-game tickets for the 2025 MLB season, which begins in March, will go on sale soon, but all season tickets for the team’s inaugural campaign in Sacramento have sold out.
Suites will be available to purchase on January 16. These suites can accommodate 20 to 100 people and will feature private indoor and outdoor seating with panoramic views of the ballpark.
The A’s home opener will be against the Chicago Cubs on March 31. Fans are able to join the waitlist for the 2026 season by visiting the team’s website.
The A’s announced last April that Sutter Health Park would serve as the team’s temporary home before the move to Las Vegas. At the time, team owner John Fisher said that several locations had been explored, including the Oakland Coliseum.
The A’s were unable to reach an agreement with the Oakland government to remain at the Coliseum. The City of Oakland had reportedly demanded a $97m (£80m/€95m) “extension fee” as part of a proposal that would have kept the A’s in the city until the team’s new ballpark was ready.
The final A’s game at the Coliseum was a 3-2 win over the Texas Rangers on September 26. The attendance for the game was 46,889, significantly higher than the season average of 10,942, as fans had been staying away in protest against Fisher’s ownership.
Dave Kaval recently resigned as president of the A’s, with Sandy Dean stepping in to the role on an interim basis. Kaval had served as A’s president for eight years and will be staying in California to explore new opportunities “at the crossroads of business and government”.
The budget for the team’s Las Vegas ballpark has risen to $1.75bn, up from the previously reported $1.5bn, due to inflation and an extra 70,000 square feet of features.
