Cryptocurrency exchange Zondacrypto has acquired naming rights to the home arena of Swiss ice hockey club HC Davos.

The Eisstadion will officially rebrand as the Zondacrypto Arena. Zondacrypto becomes the second naming-rights sponsor of the arena, after heating products manufacturer Vaillant held the rights from 2007 to 2018.

Zondacrypto was founded in Poland in 2014 and has sponsorship deals with Juventus, AS Monaco and the Giro d’Italia cycling event.

Gaudenz Domenig, chairman of the board of directors at HC Davos, said: “The partnership with Zondacrypto is a stroke of luck for HCD and Swiss ice hockey. We can use it to lay the foundation for further sporting success. At the same time, it gives us access to an innovative industry.”

As well as hosting HC Davos games, Zondacrypto Arena stages the annual Spengler Cup competition. The arena has also hosted speed skating events.
