IG Arena, a new 17,000-seat venue opening in the Japanese city of Nagoya later this year, has signed beverages company Suntory Spirits as its latest founding partner.
The multi-year agreement, brokered by AEG Global Partnerships, names Suntory as an official and exclusive partner/provider in the alcoholic beverage and non-alcoholic beverage categories.
Suntory will have pouring rights for a range of beverages throughout the arena, and will also receive a strong brand presence through exclusive naming rights to one of the main visitor entrance gates and two premium lounge bars.
Suntory will also receive numerous permanent and digital signage placement opportunities within the inside and outside public areas of the arena. IG Arena and Suntory will also produce a new signature drink for the venue.
IG Arena will open in the summer and will be one of the biggest sports and entertainment facilities in Japan. It will feature a five-story hybrid-oval design, enabling it to easily host multiple types of sports, music, family and special events.
The ‘founding partner’ designation marks the exclusive premium sponsorship tier for IG Arena. In December, Niterra, one of Japan’s leading manufacturers of ignition parts and vehicle electronics, signed on as the first founding partner of the arena as part of a long-term deal.
IG Arena will be home of the Nagoya Grand Sumo Tournament and the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins basketball team. It will also be the main indoor venue for the 2026 Asian Games and Asian Para Games.
UK-headquartered fintech company IG Group acquired naming rights to the arena in February 2024 as part of a 10-year deal.
