WWE has announced that Saturday’s Royal Rumble at Lucas Oil Stadium generated the largest gate for any single-night event in the organisation’s history.

The event at Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts, attracted an attendance of 70,347.

The gate is only behind the Saturday and Sunday of WrestleMania 40 for any single-night WWE event. WrestleMania 40 took place last April at Lincoln Financial Field, home of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Merchandise sales at Saturday’s event were up more than 95% versus the previous Royal Rumble record, which was set last year at Tropicana Field, home of Major League Baseball’s Tampa Bay Rays.

As a result, Royal Rumble 2025 is the WWE’s highest-grossing non-WrestleMania event of all time.

Royal Rumble 2025 also broke viewership records, while sponsorship revenue was up 94% from the 2024 edition. The event also set a record for the most social video views in Royal Rumble history, as WWE superstar Bron Breakker spearing streamer IShowSpeed generated more than 300 million views in less than 24 hours.

WWE announced last month that the 2026 Royal Rumble will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It will mark the first time the event has taken place outside of North America.

WWE has not confirmed the venue for next year’s event. Previously, Riyadh’s Mohammed Abdo Arena has hosted WWE events.
