FC Barcelona has signed a sponsorship agreement with Panasonic, which becomes the new heating ventilation air conditioning provider of Espai Barça until June 30, 2028.
Panasonic will provide air conditioning solutions across the LaLiga club’s facilities, including the new-look Spotify Camp Nou. Panasonic will form part of the sponsorship programme created especially for Espai Barça.
Premier League club Chelsea has signed a multi-year partnership with customer engagement platform Twilio.
Twilio will enhance fan interactions and experiences at Stamford Bridge and on Chelsea’s digital channels as part of the deal. The agreement will enable Chelsea to gain a deeper insight into the club’s fan base.
The club will use Twilio Segment to create meaningful interactions for each individual fan. Chelsea will be able to offer relevant promotions for supporters when they are visiting the stadium.
The NBA basketball league has announced the five companies that will make up the fourth cohort of NBA Launchpad, the league’s initiative to source, evaluate and pilot emerging technologies.
The five companies are OneCourt, which translates gameplay into haptics and generative audio, giving fans who are blind or low-vision access to a real-time broadcast; Somnee, a sleep diagnostic and therapeutic headband; SportIQ, a smart ball technology that integrates AI and machine learning; Trashie, a recycling and rewards platform that incentivises people to reduce clothing waste; and VReps, an advanced education platform that delivers personalised content to improve basketball IQ.
Estádio José Pinheiro Borda, home of Brazilian football club Internacional, has been fitted with facial biometric recognition technology courtesy of Imply.
The equipment has been rolled out across all of the stadium’s control devices. It is hoped the roll-out will speed up fan entry and enhance stadium security.
The system will ensure that stadium access is personal and non-transferable, while also deterring ticket scalpers. Imply has been a partner of Internacional since 2017.
Excel London has announced an agreement with ride-hailing platform Ouno.
Ouno will become the official executive transfer partner of Excel London, offering pre-booked and on-demand services for visitors. An exclusive Ouno pick-up and drop-off point will also be set up in the venue’s underground parking facility.
